“Exciting, creative shapeshifting.”
BBC Radio Scotland

“A radical charge of allegorical enchantment, …takes a formula of 90’s indie-rock era pop singularity, and simmers it to higher graft of shine.”
Comeherefloyd

“An indie-pop delight from start to finish, with poignant lyricism.” – UK Artist of the Week, The Vinyl District

Kev recently recorded and released his debut solo album with producer Paul Savage (The Delgados, Franz Ferdinand, Mogwai, Arab Strap).

The album, Foxy Orthodoxy, is inspired by acts like Courtney Barnett, Alvvays, The Lemonheads, The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Surfer Blood and Built To Spill. With an acoustic guitar borrowed from Tracyanne Campbell (Camera Obscura/Tracyanne & Danny) and a bass borrowed from Teenage Fanclub’s Francis MacDonald, the album was recorded in 2019 and is part of a shared universe alongside Kev’s critically acclaimed comic Painted (on global release in 2021, published by a legendary Franco/American comic company.)

Foxy Orthodoxy is a document of our times, exploring themes prevalent in Kev’s journalism – anarchism, feminism, gender politics, the ideological culture wars, the cult of personality and the hypocrisy of the human heart.
